what price an independent Scotland?

When Scotland became part of the UK it ended up with some of the Darien Scheme Debt.

now if we separate from the UK to be an independent country how much of the above would we be bound by law to collect.  As any new independent nation cannot be saddled with debt it had no part in agreeing it may be a question worth investigating as those south of the border may well realise.
